It seems like more and more indie artists are taking rap way too seriously. While it is important to have some composition in one's lyrical matter, it should also be known that not every verse or song has to be a thought provoking, mind-numbing hip-hop song. Rappers should have fun with it every now and again, and that's exactly what Atlanta based emcee Chuck Thurgood did on his latest single "French Vanilla." This track has an uptempo yet mellow sound, and is described by Thurgood to be, "arcade rap" which seems to be a fitting description based on the single's overall feel. Additionally, the beat for "French Vanilla" was produced by Keyboard Thug, and it will be featured on Thurgood's forthcoming mixtape Sundaze, so be sure to look out for that one. Give this tune a listen, and don't hesitate comment what you think!
