Boom Boom Clap by Fuze the Mc

Fuze the Mc released Boom Boom Clap on March 2nd and is what he calls an "audio novel.". Fuze is a college student at Howard University by day, and hip-hop mastermind by night. This album takes listeners through the lives of two teenage boys that find an Ipod in a time when music is regulated by the government. The album is narrated in vast detail and really paints a very detailed picture of the effects music has on people. While concept albums are nothing new, Boom Boom Clap takes things to a whole new level in terms of musical stories.

In the past you may have heard a concept rap album with a track, then a twenty second cut-scene presenting the theme of the album. In this album you hear scenes that last minutes at a time, and then tracks following the plot line. This innovation creates for an exceptional listen and should only be played full-length so you can re-live the adventure time and time again.

As genius as this album is, you don't hear much rapping. The album is just over an hour long, and less than half is filled with actual rapping. That is due to the fact that it is an "audio novel" so it's understandable that Fuze wanted to present as much of the story as possible.

Judging the album solely on the music, it's pretty good. A lot of smooth and dark beats, and the passion Fuze has for his music is evident in every verse of his lyrics as his tone is powerful yet not over aggressive. Though, this album shouldn't be judged solely on the music as that is unfair. Boom Boom Clap isn't like other albums because this is a story first, music second album. This completely revolutionizes the Hip-Hop culture and Boom Boom Clap will in some way effect everyone who listens.

Now for those not familiar with Fuze the Mc, simply know that he makes some great music. His lyricism is above par and his flow is top notch. He really is a talented rapper and did a great job at having a common tone throughout the album. On this project you will hear darker beats with R&B and Soul mixes thrown in. This fits Fuze's style exceptionally well as he presents a cool, laid back image. The beats used on the album fit in the mix of the story quite well and it's clear that a lot of time went into the mixing and editing of the album as the professionalism is superb.

Is the the best album you will hear? Not quite. Is the the coolest album you will ever hear? Without question. This album won't tell you much about Fuze the Mc as an artist, but it will let you into his creative opus and hear something that truly is one of a kind.

It's actually pretty tough to talk about one aspect of this album simply because there are so many! This is album is the first of it's kind and after listening to it, a feeling of indescribable emotions will overwhelm you as it did me. I assume the feeling that you get after listening to this ingenious creation is similar to exploring the unknown or seeing something no one else has seen. This album could be a staple in Hip-Hop history as one of the most unique projects of our time. I can't stress enough that Boom Boom Clap is just an extremely awesome listen that is worth the buy.
