Antwan "Big Boi" Patton and Andre' "Andre' 3000" Benjamin released their first album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzic, on April 26, 1994 and since that day, they have been regarded as two of the best to ever do it; collectively, that is. They have explored just about every realm of hip-hop possible, and have even created a few new ones on the way. Their classic tracks are woven into listener's minds whether it be a song as commercial and "poppy" as the mega-hit "Hey Ya" or something as eloquent and smooth as "Chonkfire." Though, these singular tracks came to the public by way of an album, and while it may seem that the word "album" has lost its value and is nothing more than an antediluvian idea, it should be known that OutKast made quite a few of them.
This storied dyad released six studio albums, and had two of them go on to win the prestigious "album of the Year" title. Below, is my ranking of their six projects from their worst to their best. To avoid sounding too opinionated in my rankings, I will simply include the tracklistings of the albums, for I feel that alone should justify its rank on my board. I encourage everyone to comment on the post and let me know whether you agree or disagree with my list, and why!
