A good beat, some good lyrics, and a good message. Those are the ingredients that North Carolina native, Descendent put into his single "Break The Cycle" which was featured off his most recent album, Road to Greatness: Journey of a Lost Soul. The beat's 'trap-style' sounds like something straight out of Atlanta circa 2004, however, Descendent uses this beat to deliver lyrics with meaning. That meaning you ask? Breaking the cycle of injustice to the people of America. This track itself "breaks the cycle" of using hard beats to actually have a lyrical message behind it, rather than talking about cliche' rap topics. This may or may not have been intended by Descendent, either way, it's still a fresh take on a classic style beat. Check out the track and comment your thoughts!
