Only One by Rohan Da Great feat. Stoney

The talented North Carolina based emcee, Rohan Da Great is back with his latest single "Only One" which features the artist known as Stoney. This track shows the softer side of Rohan, as this is a quality love song with a good hip-hop sound. Not only that, but "Only One" has a bit of a commercial sound, which should help its appeal to a much broader audience. Give this eloquent track a listen and be sure to comment below!

Bounce by Wendall Scott feat. Tim Nihan

In the hundreds of posts you can find on this site, there is a singular word that appears on a vast majority of them; and that word is smooth. Maybe its because I'm not that creative of a writer and can't think of another word to use, or maybe it's because I listen and post a lot of SMOOTH hip-hop. Having said that, the latest single "Bounce" by site newcomer Wendall Scott featuring Tim Nihan is out, and you bet your bottom dollar I'm using the word "smooth" to let the world know the exact vibe this track emits! This song is mellow, simple, and good from the production to the vocal work. Give "Bounce" a listen and be sure to comment your thoughts!

It's Nothing by Gatsby The Great

If you're a relatively unknown rapper looking to make a splash with one song, then take notes from the Jersey born rhymer Gatsby The Great. His latest track titled "It's Nothing" and believe me; it's something. This song features a great boom bap beat with a funky and soulful horn line. As if that weren't enough, Gatsby's lyrical delivery is above par, and his lyrics are full of energy and passion. System Overload by Dynamic Equilibrium

Dynamic Equilibrium; some of you have heard of them, some of you haven't. If you find yourself on the side unfamiliar with the New York based hip-hop duo, then know this, they are something special. They've been making music for a while, and their consistency in making quality music is unreal. Not only that, but rapper Alpha Memphis is always sure to say more than just cliche rhymes. He makes listeners think with his universal lyrics that always have substance and meaning. Going along with Alpha's vocals, are the wonderfully produced beats by Machia that always set the mood and theme of the song in great fashion.

The latest track from DE is titled "System Overload" and this single fits perfectly in their already strong catalog. The beat, the lyrics, the hook, it's all great. Memphis raps about real life issues, and that's very evident in this song. You don't want to miss out on this duo, because they're going places, take my word for it. This veteran rhymer's latest single is titled "How It All Started" which is nothing more than four and a half minutes of smoothly delivered, storytelling rhymes to a hard knocking beat that is sure to captivate any and all listeners. Who Am I by Jered Sanders

The conscious and exceptionally talented rhymer Jered Sanders is back with his latest single "Who Am I" which features production from Analogic and is the second single released off his forthcoming project titled Daylight Savings Time. This track features very powerful lyrics that touch on the difficulties of being both an active Christian, as well as a hip-hop artist in today's somewhat diluted industry. Sanders delivers these thought provoking rhymes to a head-nod inducing beat, making this an instant hit. If the rest of DST sounds anything as good as this, then get ready for an amazing album!

Juice by Tony Moreaux

You ever heard the term "man on a mission"? It's a pretty popular expression so I'm assuming you have. That being said, rapper Tony Moreaux decided to give the world a living example of what that term sounds like with his latest single "Juice" which is produced by Moreaux himself. This song is five minutes of greatness, whether it's in the lyrics, the beat, or even the hook! This is as good a rap single as I've heard in a while, and with the commercial appeal that this track has, there's no reason for listeners not to love it! Vogue by Taelor Gray

One of the more frequent faces on this site of late, is artist Taelor Gray. Gray has a knack for making infectious music, and he did just that with his latest single "Vogue" which features production from Wit. This track is a slow-tempo hip-hop track that features a dark and ominous beat as well as a message that speaks on being more than meets the eye; being deep rather than just another face. Mad Caved In by Ansley Allen

Every so often, we here at The Under-Cover Album Review will come across a song that is much deeper than meets the ear. A song that doesn't quite fit our mold, while at the same time being exactly what we want to share. "Mad Caved In" by the exceptionally talented Ansley Allen is one of those songs. At first, this track is a simple pop song, however, a deeper listen will reveal the hip-hop style beat produced by the Samlightning (an exceptional producer), as well as traces of R&B in Allen's wonderful voice. This is a slow-tempo track that everyone should enjoy, so give it a listen, and be sure to comment your thoughts!

Walking by Silent Knight

Rap. No not the overplayed and diluted sounds being played on commercial radio, rather the "rap" that is an acronym for the words rhythm and poetry. That, my friends, is what genre the single "Walking" by rhymer Silent Knight falls under. This track is deep, spiritual, beautiful and well-structured. From the soft yet head-nod inducing beat, to the personal and descriptive lyrics detailing a personal journey. Silent Knight struck gold with this track; which just so happens to be one of the lead singles off his forthcoming record titled Weaknd which is slated to drop August 4th, and if the rest of the songs are even half as good as this one, then you can guarantee an exceptional project. Headphone Diaries by P.SO The Earthtone King

When it comes to style, uniqueness, and charisma in the hip-hop industry, rapper P.SO The Earthtone King immediately comes to mind. For starters, his lengthy name is one of a kind, and his music is something indigenous to him. Additionally, he has a certain aura to him that has made his music both captivating and entertaining. He's no rookie to the game, and his latest single "Headphone Diaries" is a testament to just that. Production for this single comes to his long time partners, 2 Hungry Bros, and they seem to be in great synchronization as this track is a great blend of swift flows, strong lyrics, and a one solid beat infused with an array of sounds and styles. Looking for an eerie hip-hop track laced with swiftly delivered rhymes and a dark ominous beat? If so, that's an extremely specific thing to look for, but luckily, Pragmaddix and C.Shreve the Professor have got you covered with their latest single "One Of These Days." This track features two talented North Carolina based emcees that have a bundle of potential, and good music waiting to be heard. In regards to this given track, the lyrics are solid, the deliveries are strong, and the dark and thematic sound is sure to resonate with a lot of listeners. Yeezy Taught Me That by gQ Marley

These days, the name Yeezy is synonymous with arrogance, talent, fame and fortune. In fact, it's been that way for some time as Kanye has seemingly been crowned the unofficial king of the public eye. Whether you like it or not, West is an extremely influential artist and person, which is what the single "Yeezy Taught Me That" by Texas based rhymer, gQ Marley is all about. Equipped with a smooth and fluent beat, this song has a bit of a commercial appeal, while Marley's style seems to be anything but. His flow on this song is solid, as is his delivery and lyrics. Additionally, there isn't one aspect of the track that really stands out among the rest, but that isn't to say that "Yeezy Taught Me That" isn't a really good hip-hop song...because it is! Mitchell & Blessed by Jered Sanders

One of the most talented and consistently underrated emcees around, Jered Sanders is back with a new single titled "Mitchell & Blessed" and this track is absolutely great. For starters, the Illien Roeswell produced beat is triumphant, simplistic, and smooth. Next is the five minutes of killer lines delivered in a cypher-esque style that makes this track some of his best lyrical work in some time. As if that weren't enough, Sanders makes this entire track without a single curse-word, just to further display his all-around lyrical talent. "Mitchell & Blessed" will be featured as a bonus track on his upcoming album Daylight Savings Time, which is set to release on August 28th. Gold Slippers by Michael Cardigan & Tommie Chase

Hip-Hop artists Michael Cardigan and Tommie Chase make their Under-Cover Album Review debut appearance with a short and smooth track titled "Gold Slippers"which features some elegant and polished production by Swiff D. This single is off the duo's forthcoming project, Cloud Club Over Everything which features an array of talented artists. Although "Gold Slippers" is only about a minute and a half long, it still does a good job at capturing the attention of the listener as this track is as good as any. Raging Bull by Cymarshall Law, Si Phili, Black Belt Poemz, & Black Ice

One of the most underrated rhymers around, Cymarshall Law is back with his latest track "Raging Bull" which features Si Phili, Black Belt Poemz, and Black Ice as well as production from Richy Spitz. This track is funky, smooth, and filled with fluent flows from all of the artists. That being said, the last verse on the song belongs to Cymarshall himself, and if you've ever wanted to hear what it means to "body a beat" simply listen to that. Everything 050 (Lead Singles) by 050 Boyz

Comprised of rhymers Riq da Kid, Prince AK and Tru Trilla, the 050 Boyz, a grimy in-your face hip-hop trio, aims to make a splash with their forthcoming album titled, Everything 050. The group recently released a few of the album's lead singles, and man oh man are these tracks nice! The first song, titled "Pay Them No Mind" features DoItAll as well as Tha Advocate, and has a beat as triumphant as ever! The aggressive and high-energy flows from the Boyz are surprisingly superb, as sharp lyricism and fluent delivery is present throughout the duration of the track. "Pay Them No Mind" has a bit of an old-school flare, while the next single, "DNA" is a more modern play on hip-hop.

"DNA" has a bit of an eerie beat, however, the up-tempo style from 050 Boyz won't bore listeners by any means! This track, much like the other, has some extremely strong and clever rhymes, although, the hook in "DNA" is a bit more catchy than the one in "Pay Them No Mind." Additionally, the head-nod inducing beat is present in both tracks, though both beats are very different in their emitted moods, which only leads me to believe that the full-length album will be a versatile one for sure. Give both singles a listen, and feel free to vote on which single you liked best!

Shame On Me by C Rose

Making his first appearance on The Under-Cover Album Review is rapper C Rose, for his most recent single "Shame On Me" which will be featured on his forthcoming album Bastille Day, scheduled to release on July 14th. This track features a strong, eerie, and head-nod inducing beat produced by Obelo, which goes hand-in-hand with the up-tempo style of C Rose. Additionally, Rose has an above average flow and all throughout this track he puts that talent on full display. Other than the somewhat repetitive hook, there isn't anything wrong with this track, in fact, it's one of the better hip-hop singles to be featured on the site in recent memory. Go O Say More by Ozay Moore

If you're looking for some smooth, soft, and very mellow hip-hop, then "Go O Say More" by the extremely talented rhymesmith Ozay Moore is NOT for you! This track hits hard and fast, and while Ozay's stomach turning rhymes add to to that feeling, the main contributor is the powerful and compelling beat produced by Stro Elliot which will get listener's head nodding and their fists pumping! Not only that, but the repeated chants of "Go O Say More" throughout the song makes this hip-hop track perfect for any high energy situation. As if that weren't enough, Moore is sure to "say more" than simple cliches, as he actually displays some very strong lyricism from the start of this song to its end. Give "Go O Say More" a listen, and be sure to comment your thoughts!

Lasting Impression by Substantial feat. Wayna

Gearing up for his second of three EPs before his full-length project later in the year is the talented DMV rhymer, Substantial. In the previous EP titled, The Past... Stan worked exclusively with production duo, The Other Guys, while on this EP, dubbed Always, he is collaborating with producer Algorythm of the Stuyvesants. Their opening single "Lasting Impression" does just that as this head-nod inducing track will captivate listeners in more ways than one. For starters, the beat is all that and more while the lyrical delivery from Stan is as precise as ever. Finally, the beautifully placed and harmonious voice of Grammy nominated artist Wayna ties the entire track together ever so nicely. This is a great track that all listeners should enjoy, so give it a listen and be sure to comment your thoughts!
